Dear Friend,
My name is Hannah and I want to thank you for helping me start my life. You see, I grew up with a mother who suffered from mental illness. She didn't even know who my father was. When I was 10 years old, a social worker brought me to Migdal Ohr. I hadn’t had a shower in days. I barely made eye contact and couldn’t read. I was scared and alone.
At Migdal Ohr, I was greeted with patience and with love. My self confidence grew as I felt how much my teachers cared about me. I caught up in school and eventually went on to college.
My wedding to Eran was very emotional. It was officiated by Rabbi Grossman, who is like a father to me since the time I was small. Before the wedding, I went to the Migdal Ohr Bridal Salon and left feeling like a queen. They provided everything for the wedding, at no cost to us. Migdal Ohr also helped to arrange our home - from candlesticks to linens to modest furniture. I cried tears of joy on our first night in our apartment. I never thought I would have a home of my own.
Today, we have three beautiful children. We live in Tiberias where I work as a kindergarten teacher and my husband is a rabbi and teacher. Our home is full of warmth and love. Our life is something I could only dream of as a child.
I don’t know what we would have done without Migdal Ohr. The stress and cost of starting a home would have completely overshadowed our joy. We owe everything to the generous donors to the Bayit B’Yisrael Fund - who stepped in to make our wedding a true simcha, a joyous occasion.
Thank you for helping us build a Jewish home that will, God willing, lead to generations of children and grandchildren that you can be proud of.
From the bottom of my heart,
Hannah
